Droppings

Keep finding these droppings in my flower beds. Is it mice? If so, how do we stop it? Thanks

Not mice, could be worm casts? A bit difficult to tell.

Mice don't usually make a little heap of droppings. My first reaction was to say "no way is that wormcasts' but I think Nan could be right, especially if your soil is dark.
