What is laying eggs on and near my kale?

I have been finding green caterpillars and tiny yellow eggs which I think are cabbage white butterfly ones but now have some bigger black eggs and wondering what is about to continue decimating the kale! Does anyone know please?
I’ll attach a photo of some on a spinach leaf near it and so far only the kale gets destroyed. I’ll need netting next year !

Could it be caterpillar droppings? Eggs aren't usually laid in an obvious position on top of leaves.
