Hi, any idea what's wrong with my apple tree? There is no fruit on it this year either

How long have you had the tree?

Drought would be my first thought, but your grass looks fine.

I would suggest lack of water, possibly in the hot spell earlier this year, making it susceptible to all sorts of bugs/fungus etc. I’ve had similar problems.

If you’ve mostly had light rain then maybe the grass could be absorbing it all before it gets to the tree roots. Try giving it a couple of buckets of water once a week, see if it improves.

We've had it 3 years this summer, first year 2 apples, last year lot's but too many for the tree, we should have removed some to allow others to grow. We probably did neglect it at the start of lockdown when it was hot and dry, but we've had a good amount of rain and drizzle the last few weeks.

Should we remove the brown leaves? Will start giving it the buckets of water.
Thank you

Leave them, they'll drop off.

Had this with my apple tree last year. Usually get masses of fruit but last year just one solitary little apple. This year it's back to being smothered in fruit so sorry can't tell you what it is but hopefully next year it will be fine again
