Ride on mower/lawn tractor

Can anyone recommend a mower or lawn tractor suitable for a 1.5 acre garden, mainly flat lawn?

What’s your budget? We have a stiga estate 3084 and it’s excellent about 2.5 k. We previously had a mountfield 1530 h which is by the same manufacturer but much smaller but only a couple of hundred quid less.

The stigas are for larger gardens the mountfield smaller, both would do one and a half acres, but I’d recommend the stiga.

John Deere are the best if you want to go high end but unless you’re doing a lot of other work Ie chopping down trees and using a trailer to move the wood, it’s not required.

We have nearly three acres and do do a lot of other Heavy gardening work, and don’t need a John Deere.our neighbour has a very old one and much more land. They are great though. The stiga does us perfectly but the mountfield was a bit under powered for us. Great for the grass but struggled with the heavy work.

Make sure you get the mulch plug fitted it makes such a difference, double cuts it and you don’t even know the cuttings are back in the grass.
