So... DH has gifted me this fine beast. ConfusedGrinGrin

It's not as quite random as you may think, as you will see from the photo of our 'lawn ornament'. But now I have to work out what to put in it - either from whatever I've already got available in the garden, or a list so I don't have to linger in a garden centre (the local ones are discouraging browsing as the reopen).

If your DH gave you this planter, what would you put in it?

I was looking at the photo thinking ‘that is a really realistic planter’.

Sorry, no help with the plants.

Oh wow. I was only looking at these this morning and admiring them! How lovely that your DH has bought you one.

Carrie7469 · 18/05/2020 14:55

I’d put it near my front door and put trailing fuschias in it

longcoffee · 18/05/2020 14:55

@Letsnotargue I spent way too long looking at the pic thinking how realistic it was too!

ErrolTheDragon · 18/05/2020 16:45

You're right he's quite shallow, and a bit short for anything trailing.

I liked at the photo too wondering where the plants would go....a few sprigs in the nostrils, a couple in the ears and a few sticking out from the...

Looked not liked.

I did like the photo though

House leeks. It's a bit shallow for anything else

Yep, another one wondering where you were about to insert the plants.

I was wondering about those ... a half dachshund, half hedgehog look?Grin

There's a house we walk by which has a great collection of houseleeks (and possibly some sedums) atop their wall, they've embedded half a drainpipe in it to create a shallow bed. It sounds like it might be naff but it really works.

Parsley. Which incidentely is also a very good name for a dog.
