Evergreen for a teeny tiny north facing garden

Recommendations for an evergreen plant please!
North facing tiny front garden that can withstand clay soil.

Planted a Hebe last year and it hasn't survived so need to take out and replace. Would love a flowering plant to compliment what I've got already.
Was going to put in a spare hydrangea I've got but I know it'll get too big for the space plus I want a plant that'll look nice even through winter.
Fussy much!

Skimmia? Ferns are beautiful but obviously not flowering. Sarcoccoca?

Not flowering, but how about a variegated euonymus? Evergreen too.
Flowers don't tend to do all that well in a north-facing spot. Although for summer bedding, begonias would be good.
