Photo - Can I use dead bamboo for Clematis to climb up?

I've got some bamboo at the end of my garden that's there mostly for screening. Some of it is thriving, but one section has completely died. I've tried to attach a photo.

Can I leave the dead bamboo in situ and use it as a sort of trellis for some clematis to climb up? Or is that a ridiculous idea?

I'm a complete gardening novice and would really appreciate any advice.

I don't know if that would work, you might have to put some string or wire between the bamboo horizontally to help the clematis tendrils fix on. I have a princess Diana clematis which is pretty and not too big and heavy.

You could cut off the branches and leave just bamboo poles there but it would look messy to be honest. I'd probably take it out and use a proper support like a trellis or even grow a large shrub there with a clematis at the bottom, but obviously that would take time.

Thank you. I have ordered some trellis from Screen With Envy's sale and will use that instead for the Clematis to climb up.
