Help I didn’t label my alderman peas from my sugar snaps!

I’ve filled all sorts of pots with both and didn’t keep them separate and now apart from the occasional pot I put a sticker on I can’t tell the difference! Will it matter if I plant them all together in a muddle wonder?

Lesson learnt as my first effort on peas and beans this year!

If they're sugar snap rather than mange-tout, you pick them when the seeds (peas) have developed (so at least you won't be picking the Aldermen at mange-tout size and finding they're too tough to eat). Then when you prepare them you'll have to assess whether the pod is tough and needs discarding.

I suggest you make sure each pot has a separate support and try to stop plants growing up each others' supports - you may find you can see differences in leaves or flowers which help you divide them into "type A" and "type B". And of course label up any plants whose pot had a sticker on.

That’s so kind to reply, thank you. Yes it would be good if flowers help and I’ll keep an eye out for differences !

I looked at pictures of both and they seem very similar but the pods look different with the alderman pea pods looking more fleshy and round.

I have both brown and black little pots that we reuse and if planting two things at the same time put one type of seed in one colour and the other in a different one.

Different colour pots is genius- I love that and hopefully next year I will implement this !

I did this once, but in the ground. I just waited until they were sugar-snap size to eat and tried them. Not great but we worked it out mostly.
