What do you fill your plant pots with? (artificial plants)

Hi guys,

I’m in the process of finally doing some projects including getting round to dressing up my garden. Got a long way yet, but no excuses during Covid-19 isolation period.

^So as per my title, I have a few artificial plants that I need to put in planters. I’ve heard of foam, bottles, sand, stones, newspaper etc. I have no concerns about plastic/ glass bottles and do have some foam and sand laying but wondering what has and hasn’t worked for others who have tried the above and any other recommendations?.

I want to avoid having to apply new material every year due to heavy rain falls.

Also, the plants already come in really nice pots but despite this they don’t set off the garden as well as the black pots I have purchased, it would be great if I could preserve the original pots it comes with for future change of style but these are securely attached as part of the design. If drainage doesn’t work well, I could damage the original pots, but not the end of the world, as the alternative is I could always store the whole thing away in the garage during the winter.

Working back to front as I’ve had these beautiful plants for a year sitting in storage, hoping for a new patio, however due to Covid -19, I can’t call in anyone to revamp patio, so doing what I Can. Essay over .

Hope you’re all doing okay during these difficult times and are too find projects or whatever it is you enjoy to fulfil your time.
