Transferring laurel trees to another part of garden - have I left it too late?

I would like to transfer these from the front garden to the back garden to fill in a gap in the existing hedge. I have read that I can as long as no buds have appeared. However, I think looking at these that it's late. What do you all think? I'm hoping to move them soon as the ground is still nice and soft but not if it will just kill them.

Laurel in my experience has an immense will to live.

It's always difficult to fill gaps in an existing hedge - the competition is too great. But I've successfully planted laurel seedlings into a hawthorn hedge, so laurel may be an exception.

@MereDintofPandiculation thank you for your response. Yes I am hoping that the hardiness of laurel has them survive that transfer.

Our hedge is a mixer of conifers and a whole lot of other plants and trees that I don't really know their names. But there is a bit of thin area where I reckon the plant loses its leaves in winter and Ic an see into our neighbor's garden so I'm hoping to move these laurels to this spot, slightly infront of existing hedge to ensure not shaded from sunshine by the existing hedge.

I am hoping to plan lavender and rosemary in their current spot to see if I can repel the local cat that is doing poos in my front garden.

I've never noticed our cats avoid our lavender and rosemary
