DH is making good progress on the work in our back garden - started at beginning of school summer holiday but because of bad weather he hasn't been able to get stuck into it very well.
We had a shed load of mixed concrete delivered today and things are starting to take shape now. Next job will be laying of patio slabs.
Need to start thinking about what new patio furniture we want to get and would love to get some ideas from others. Am hoping it is a good time of year to be buying it too and hope to get a good bargain in the sales.

Really pleased it's nearly finished!
My parents got a nice set from the Garden centre at Canford Magna sorry I don't have a pic to show you!

Hi Whoops!! We still have a way to go but it's getting there. Thanks for the suggestion. We shall have to take a drive around and see what we can find.

we bought a lovely set from the Co-op (of all places) it has a rectangle shape table, 2 chairs with arms and 2 benches, it came with seat cushions too. it is very comfy and really sturdy, it was only £150 too. It was a nice light brown colour.

We have spent all summer using it, eating, kids playing, just sitting reading etc its really is nice.

Given that my DH chucked our patio furniture today this is a thread that is of interest to me too, been to Dobbies but they don't seem to have taken much off their sets yet.

We have a set from homebase which we've had for a couple of years. It's v v similar to this.

MrsSpoon · 03/09/2007 20:55

flowerybeanbag, that's very similar to what we had before.

We are looking for a very sturdy set that can be left out all year round.

MrsSpoon · 03/09/2007 20:56

Should add flowerybeanbag's set is fantastic if you put it away, alas we didn't and it was wrecked after a couple of summers.

We bought a fantastic table and chairs from www.kitstone.co.uk

It's a little bit pricey but the quality is fantastic and we can leave everything out through the winter.

We have the loom tub chairs and granite top table

Depending on your budget I would recommend Kitstone. Speak to Deborah, I'm sure they will be having a sale in the next month or so. It was going to be the end of September but I think they postponed it til later in the year.

A friend said they had some good ones at Superbuys Garden Centre of all places. It's at Canford Magna I think, might be the same place Whoops is talking about.

We've got a picnic table from Ekomebel. It's seriously heavy duty, neither weather nor kids can damage it!

gingernutlover · 21/07/2009 18:16

we got a teak gateleg table (1.2m circlular) with 4 oak chairs from homebase this weekend, they had a sale plus 10% off so it all came to £180!

argos have their wooden parasols reduced to £14 too

oh and homebase have cheap cushions, ours were 88p a pair and perfectly fine

We bought a set of Westminster Teak garden furniture from www.WestminsterTeak-Direct.co.uk. Although it was very expensive it came with a 10 year guarantee and they company where brilliant at handling the delivery as we wanted it deilevered at the weekend. Would highly recommend the products and the company.
