Hi, please can somebody identify this house plant for me?

I bought it from the garden centre a couple of days ago, as I love the markings, but there was no label to identify it.

Thanks in advance 💐.

I think it's Dieffenbachia.

Thanks @LuisaKelmen.

I’m not sure why I called it a houseplant plant, rather than just a houseplant....

Now to keep it alive......

It has nasty sap, so keep away from children and animals.

Thanks @followingonfromthat.

It's not called the Dumb Cane for nothing!

Babdoc · 29/01/2020 17:59

Yup, also called leopard lily. If eaten it can cause convulsions and cardiac arrest, so keep it well away from pets and children! The leaves are also highly irritant to the skin.

I also heard that you shouldn't have it in the bedroom.
But we used to have them all over the house , when I was child and everything was just okay.;)

@LouisaKelmen, thank you, it’s currently on the kitchen windowsill, probably the safest place for it to stay. It’s sat there looking very innocent....

Thanks @Babdoc, no kids or pets here thankfully.
