Rhododendron flowering again

I cannot believe that one of my rhododendrons has started to flower again, in November. It is in a fairly sheltered location, in a raised bed with lots of ericaceous compost added. It was looking quite scruffy back in the Spring, so I thinned it out and removed all the dead bits after flowering.
A few of the dahlias in the front are still flowering as well.
I am sure they never used to flower this late?

Occasionally mine do this. I don’t know why, but it doesn’t seem to harm them. They flower again in spring.

There are quite a few early summer or spring flowering plants which will flower again in autumn if conditions are good, primrose being the most obvious.

Ours do this every year, and the camellias.
