Container Compost

Anyone have any views about whether spent compost is a useful soil conditioner if applied to borders after containers have been emptied out, even though it obviously won't have much if any nutrient value left?

Absolutely! It's a useful conditioner due to its organic content.

What else would you do with it? Grin

If my compost heap could do with a layer of soil, I chuck it on there, otherwise it goes on the beds. It's either loose which makes future weeding much easier, or it's bound together with roots which will break down over winter and increase the nutrient level.

Yes, definitely.
