Cost of gardeners in London

My gardener has just left a message to say he is putting his prices up from £25 per hour to £30 per hour. This seems an awful lot - it is for him and his assistant. I thought it was a lot to start with tbh!

We do have the kind of garden that requires a little skill but it just seems a bit steep.

What is the going rate for gardeners in outer London - anyone know?

I pay £15 a fortnight for grass to be cut - take 2 of them 20 minutes !

shocking

I'm moving soon and won't be asking them ti cime with me either - they are great a cutting grass and hacking hedges but can't trim hedges nicely and don't know the difference between flowering weeds and flowers ggrrr

I want a proper gardener, perhaps a recently retired person to do my garden, who knows what they are doing

I pay £15 an hour in SE25. She really knows her stuff and is lovely as well which is a bonus!

The guy I have really annoys me too to add to this!

I said once 'oh I've got to go in now and do some work' and he said 'don't be silly, you don't need to work' which I found very rude.

He also is a bit leary!

Time for a new one me thinks.
