Repel spiders from making home in my garden furniture?

Hi everyone,

We've got quite a large garden with a small decked area at the front. I've got no problem with spiders and certainly wouldn't want to harm them, but every morning I'm brushing cobwebs from my furniture and it's a bit of a chore.

Does anyone know what I can do to try and persuade them to move away from my decking and make their homes in my garden instead? The decking is sealed, and I only have a couple of flower boxes on the decking.

I've heard that peppermint spray can help, but I just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas?

Thanks!

Collect some conkers in the autumn.

Try lemon scented sprays or there is something called spider ex, I spray it on my car wing mirrors and around my house window frames and it keeps them away for months
