BLUE??????

I have pink, yellow, and orange flowers in my border.. was watchign gardener' world briefly who said blue flowers were good. but should have written down their actual suggested plant!

anyone any ideas

I wouldn't, but then I hate californian lilac with a passion and have just about succeeded in killing our last one (hurrah!)

Would recommend nigella - dead easy to grow and they selfseed so come back every year

Ceanothus - though it's a shrub, not a bush. Mine was a solid mass of blue for a about 6 weeks. Also there are blue buddlieas (sp???).

And there is a blue aquilegia I think.

blue/purple clematis? it's a climber with flowers, different ones flower at different times of year so you could plant a couple.

there's a blue poppy to - think it is a himalayan poppy.

And blue hyacinths in the spring. Iris too (quite a few spring ones are blue).

Just realised I said not a bush when I meant not a flower - it is a bush! It's very robust too, mine is in a fairly small pot (on gravel) but is about 5' tall and wide (I suspect the roots have crept out of the bottom in search of sustenance)

I'm not a good gardener, can you tell? I recently bought a blue lacecap hydrangea and the poor thing has turned nearly white, with brown spots, I think because it's still in the garden centre pot and is too close to the house to get any rain...must repot it before it dies on me, it was stunning when I got it.
