Clematis help

I've planted two clematis but I did the training wires upwards | and now I think I should have done them in horizontal rows ==

Should I leave them or add in horizontal rows along the top of the fence?

I'd leave the ones you've got since they're there, and add horizontal wires. It's one of those jobs that is well worth the time and doesn't cost much.
