Hydrangea move

I have 2 well established hydrangeas that are currently potted.
We have moved from a NE facing garden to a S facing garden and haven't put them out the back yet as I know they wouldn't cope on the patio.
My question is, against my back fence is a strip of shade that I have watched over the months that doesn't get any direct sun that I've seen where the fence provides a block.

Could I plant my hydrangeas here directly in the ground out of their pots they have been for 3 years?
