I only just discovered this Hardening section so forgive my onslaught of posts!

Just noticed these little critters on my rose. Are they greenfly? And if they are, what do/should I do?

Are they bad for the plant?

Yes greenfly. You need to wash them off using washing up liquid.

If you leave them they suck the sap from the roses and stunt their growth and damage the flowers.

A squirt of ordinary washing up liquid in a spray bottle topped up with water then give them a good spray.

Brilliant - thanks! I've just sprayed them with well-diluted Fairy and I can't see any more of them now, so fingers crossed.

I'll keep a closer eye from now on.

I sprayed mine with washing up liquid mixed in with water, did the trick brilliantly!

I misread the title as greenfly on your nose and thought 'Wow, I had no idea that could happen' Blush
