Apple tree

Hello

We purchased a new house earlier this year and in the garden Is a beautiful apple tree which is full of apples.

Problem is we're not sure what to do with it! The majority of the apples on the tree are full of holes. Is that normal? Is there anything I can do to stop it? I've just been putting them in garden waste bin, is there something else I should be doing? They're red eating apples not cooking apples.

Any help would be appreciated!

Next year hang up (in May) a pheromone trap for codling moths, they're probably the culprit. It won't get rid of them all but will reduce the numbers.
