What to plant in pots now? And a question about bulbs.

What can you plant in pots now to give a bit of colour into autumn / winter?

Also if you're planting bulbs in beds so you just squish them in between whatever is currently there?

Skimmia
Winter pansies
Cyclamen
Violas

My winter pansies never do very well- they seem to like a lot of sun. Violas are a better buy.

Skimmia will grow big so can't stay in a pot forever.

Bulbs - yes- put them into gaps between plants.
