I've been asked to oversee a small patch of lad, apparently an acre, (I think?) for a charity. They'd like it divided up into small plots/beds so those using the charity can have a sort of small patch themselves to grow whatever they like. Some beds for edibles to generate a bit of an income. I think raised/no dig beds seem a good idea. Sandy soil. That's all I have, and I'm stuck! Obviously money tight.

Any ideas would be most gratefully received. Please?!

Well if you haven't got a good compost heap going, then get one going quickly! It'll take a while though, how long have you got to get it ready to be planted?
Flowers and shrubs are good on sandy soil , carrots are too but not the normal type of potatoey veg. they need rich expensive (with bought in compost) soils.

Maybe get your friends to donate cuttings and compost !! Raised beds are time and money consuming to prepare but they look good and are good for individuals to work.

If it’s a charity why don’t you approach local garden centres to see if they can offer you anything
