Is this rose rosette?

Hi this is the first year I've ever planted anything as we turned our backyard into a little whitewashed courtyard with potted plants. Smile I'm really pleased with it but we're very much making it up as we go along! We planted a climbing rose that was suitable for containers (cant remember the name). We planted it with two other small plants (which turned out to be massive - petunias and a climber). We've had two stunning roses - but now some of the leaves are turning a red colour and curling up. I've googled and looked at images and I can't figure out if it's a disease or not? Or is the pot too crowded? Or is this normal? Any advice??

Looks like scorch from the sun - are you getting the leaves wet when you are watering in strong sunshine? That can cause it.

Thanks - will make sure we only water at the roots. DP insists he does that anyway but I watered them on Sunday and may have been a bit more cavalier... Would that make them turn red at the edges - there's one in particular that's really curled in on itself and a pinky red underneath?

Water in the evening - gives the plants a better chance of taking it in rather than it being evaporated in the heat.
