I want to do me front garden, i have a small patch of empty soil (roughly 1.5 metre by 1/2 metre) outside my kitchen window, the rest of the garden is just gravel and a horrid willow tree. Im not a good gardener (tend to plant and forget to water etc..), what shall i do with my little patch out the front?
Also i have another patch out the back (1 metre square) at the bottom of the garden which i would like to grow3 veg in, is it too late to grow from seed?
What is easy to grow? i have alot of slugs in my garden

Any advice greatfuly recieved

Outside a window, would be a good position for frangrant plants - orange blossom or lavender or even roses.

Have never grown veg, but I do know there are 'early' and 'late' varieties of loads of them, so I'm sure you're not too late to grow from seed.

oh yes and is the patch outside your window sunny or shady - do you have clay-like soil or not?

Sunny out the front, shady out the back

Good soil out the front apart from evryones cats seem to use it as a dirt box so something with thorns would be good

orange peel deters cats (looks like you're just careles when you're emptying to bin to passers by though).

Roses may be good then and I would go for a climber so you'll see the roses from your kitchen window. Roses also grow in virtually any soil.

Another lovely one is a passionflower - you'll need a trellis though for support.

Thankyou, i will have a look at rose's (so many colours to choose from) and i will have a look at veg seeds for out the back.
