Just curious, something I've always been keen to do. Smile

Yes! I just started this summer. There's a few others around too.

It's fantastic! I love my little furry workaholic.

Can you find a taster day near you, to get some insight?

@MrsBertiBibby did you have any previous experiencea with bees before getting them? I. E did you do a taster course yourself. Or just head first into a hive with a lot of book knowledge.
I've always wanted to keep bees and we have a perfect place for them but too chicken to take the leap at the minute!

How big does your garden need to bee ...?

Emmafh3 · 18/06/2018 22:10

I've seen them in tiny spots, on grass verges of t junctions (living in the middle of nowhere on single track lanes) and on roof terraces in the cities, so I imagine not much, as long as they have a clear flight path out I imagine

I'm a beekeeper 🐝

Google your local beekeeping association, most do beginners courses or taster days, usually in the winter/spring.

You don't need a huge garden, but it all depends on how close you are to neighbours. If you join your association then they can often match up people who have the space with people who need an out apiary.
