Frigging Cats!

Good grief I'm sick of cats wrecking my garden!
They just will not stop crapping in my veg/flower beds and randomly digging things up.
This is my first year growing veg with my kids, it has been a lot of fun, mostly. Removing cat poo all the time was bad enough but now they just seem to be digging for the hell of it! This morning I had to move a cauliflower and broccoli as I hadn't left enough space and they're getting big. 2pm I went out and something (cats?) have been in the veg bed and actually dug out a teeny carrot! The whole carrot was laid on the top.
All this time and effort and cats are literally just shitting all over it, I'm getting the rage.
I know this is a common problem with no real answer, I just needed to vent.

If you live by a zoo, get some Lion poo, that'll scare the blighters off ! 😂

Black Pepper... they don't like the smell of it and will avoid leaving you presents...

Spent coffe grounds are supported to deter them. I put wire netting over my veg patch until the plants are bigger. Try a few bamboo sticks, so the cats can get through.

I second the pp’s suggestion of lion dung. You can get it in garden centres and cats absolutely hate It and will avoid at all costs

My cat and every cat I ever had hates orange peel. They can't stand it . Try itSmile

JT05 · 01/06/2018 18:52

coffee, can’t. Don’t want to encourage them 😊

Thank you everyone, looks like I'm poo shopping on pay day haha. I'll give your suggestions a go.
I've got tinfoil all round my corn, this is what I've been driven to as a nutter dedicated gardener.

I use bamboo skewers around seeds, lots of them, that keep my cat off until they're big enough. Works well.

Give the orange a try works for me and I'm a cat owner.

I just use commercial cat repellant products bought from garden centres. They seem to work OK.
