our is south facing and gets all the late morning/lunchtime sun. The only thing is the leaves start to wilt at this time and then later it perks up again. It is like that this week so obviously doesn't need any water, although it is planted backing onto a fence and beyond this some conifers.

all I know is that they need sun and good drainage - sorry!

it should be perfectly happy - lots of nice sun, and a bit of competition for nutrients from the fence and conifers. If it's still growing, perks up and produces figs then it's proably fine.

If it's got lots of figs at the moment you should take some of them off so it can concentrate on ripening the ones it's got.

thanks for your messages, it has two figs on at the mo so wonder if i should put some compost round it to give it a boost?
