Container plants

Hi, I just bought a stack of container plants , some of them are a bit dry. Do I water them prior to planting in pots or after?

Both. They will needs lots of water.

Give them a good soaking now.

It helps to put in good drainage, I use polystyrene chips or blocks, for lightness. With some smaller containers and bedding plants I also put in water retaining gel.
