Any last suggestions before the maidenhair gets it's comeuppance?

I'm green fingered in so many aspects but maidenhair has defeated me.

Any suggestions or tips?

I can't seem to keep it from drying out momentarily and then it's fried.

Are you keeping it inside or out? I know they're finicky but if inside, keep out of direct sunlight. Possibly keep it in a bathroom so it's nice and humid, don't let the soil dry out but also don't let it remain soggy all the time. Trim any dead fronds down to soil level regularly.
Mine hates me.

Inside, tried the bathroom but it was worse there- though possibly more light actually. Will have a think 🤔

They can be so delicate that they just need a quick trip to the bin.

I relegated mine to the front door step. West facing and seems to have enjoyed the last 2 weeks. I mist the leaves and water it when I remember. I've read you can put it in a cloche sitting on a gravel tray of water to revive it as long as it's not in direct sunlight.
