Foxgloves

I bought 4 foxglove plants from my local garden centre, excelsior hybrids in 1 litre pots.
Will they flower this year?
I really want foxgloves this summer and have since read the camelot variety do flower in their first year so I thought about maybe buying some of those as well this year to guarantee some flowers.
Does anybody know?

They should do it already in large pots, from seed they definitely take 2 years

They will have been sold as this year’s flowering stock, if the garden centre was a reputable one.

Thank you that's just what I wanted to hear

I think yes. They were started last year or in the winter and should flower this year. Possibly now would be a good time to start foxgloves for flowering next year, from seed, thinking ahead. Then you will have lots! I love foxgloves too and sprinkle the seeds everywhere at the end of summer.

Do foxgloves usually come back? I did some from seed 2 years ago, they flowered beautifully last summer but no sign of life now.

I have a new tray of seedlings, but they won't flower until 2019.

I like that about gardening, it makes you wait!
