We had this thread last year but I can't find it.

I have a white cherry blossom and 2 pink cherry blossom (all young so it will be a few years before I can really appreciate their beauty)

White magnolia

Pink Magnolia (Magnolia Galaxy) is still only budding. The weather has been cold and it's also young.

Tulips

I can't wait for my Paul's Scarlett tree to flower in May Smile

My Camilias were poor this year. They seem to do that every second year. I've since read that it's to do with water the previous August, so I'll keep that in mind this year

Looking forward to reading replies Smile

Might be Exchordia (The Bride)?

Cary2012 · 28/05/2018 20:54

I'm a bit disappointed in my garden right now because my winter pansies, violas and spring stuff are over and the clematis which was gorgeous is dropping petals like confetti. And the blossom from the trees is two thirds gone. So there's a lull. Lots of green, but very few flowers. Hardy geraniums look ok, few bits of pretty ground cover and that's about it. Any one else?

Elizajulie · 28/05/2018 21:25

Annabelle - that is definitely nepeta.

No idea what half the stuff is in our garden! It's shameful I need a book.
We have some peonies (sp?) just about to bloom.
Roses in various colours growing up some trellis that look lovely.
Tulips just dying off.

Mrsramsayscat · 28/05/2018 22:57

Aquilegia, various violas, tulips, stock, convolvulus cnoreum, rosemary, perennial geraniums, foxgloves, strawberry flowers, viburnum, exochordia .the bride.

Circium, Valerian and Aqueligia have done really well this year. My Roses are the best they have ever been. I think the excessive rain must have helped

Last year we were really in a lull but since then I've planted various perennials and bulbs - the geum, poppies, cerinthe, armeria and allium moly are still small this year but as they get more established they should fill the gap nicely.

I had one of those happy moments when you're browsing gardening websites and spot a plant you are trying to identify. I'm now pretty sure the white-flowered shrub is spirea arguta - very lovely!

Mrsramsayscat · 30/05/2018 15:22

This thread really got me looking. I've also found valerian, dianthus, honeysuckle, nicotiana, heads of hydrangea, field poppies, aubretia, chives, choisya , pyracantha flowers, rock roses and lavender.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 30/05/2018 15:26

Stocks and Marigolds. It doesn't flower, but the Japanese maple is looking particularly good right now...

Oldraver · 01/06/2018 18:00

I suppose technically these are weeds, though I did purposefully sow them last year...

Beautiful. I’m envious, I can’t seem to grow poppies, apart from Welch poppies. I’ve tried all the suggestions and advice, still no poppies :(

JT05 · 01/06/2018 18:46

*Welsh

Oldraver · 01/06/2018 20:16

They seem to be the only thing I dont kill. They came free last year in a load of soil I had delivered and I managed to keep back some seed

I've never heard of Welch Poppies..off to Google

Cary2012 · 02/06/2018 07:16

Since my moan about nothing much happening, my sweet peas are flowering after scrambling up their nets! And good old cranesbill has masses of flowers. And the Clary looks like it might do something soon!
Lavender is in flower. Am amazed at my pots of violas - about £2 for twenty from Aldi - planted up from tiny plugs in March. They are real troopers still going strong. And my winter pansies don't care that it's June, they look lovely. French Marigolds in tubs look quite striking too. More optimistic today.

Everything I posted about a month ago is still blooming, with the addition of two orchids I bought about 4-5 years ago and about to bloom for the first time....... a peach/pink flowering abutilon, another plant that flowers all year round, and the jade plants.

Oldraver · 02/06/2018 19:14
