We had this thread last year but I can't find it.

I have a white cherry blossom and 2 pink cherry blossom (all young so it will be a few years before I can really appreciate their beauty)

White magnolia

Pink Magnolia (Magnolia Galaxy) is still only budding. The weather has been cold and it's also young.

Tulips

I can't wait for my Paul's Scarlett tree to flower in May Smile

My Camilias were poor this year. They seem to do that every second year. I've since read that it's to do with water the previous August, so I'll keep that in mind this year

Looking forward to reading replies Smile

Hellebore still going strong, primroses, bluebells, forget-me-not, periwinkle, euphorbia, pulmonaria, ajuga, snow-in-summer just coming out. Viola, that is, the ones which haven't been nibbled by the damn slugs. Love this time of year.

I’m not a gardener, I inherited a garden which gets intermittently neglected, brutally pruned, watered - and occasionally has new things planted in it.

We’ve had some adorable mini daffs and a random primrose, and still have a few bluebells. The marsh marigold in the pond has gone completely batshit - it gets too big and falls in the pond, so all the petals fall off. Still a nice splash of yellow though. The irises in the pond are nowhere near flowering, but look pretty hearty, as does the other thing with tall leaves (which i planted, but can’t remember what it is). The water lily leaves are growing back, but it’ll be a while until they flower.

There is a whole slew of purple flowers out the front which I suspect are weeds but are so pretty. The white clematis is looking a bit half arsed at the moment, but the pink is looking good.

I got rid of a load of dandelions at the weekend, so currently it’s quite tidy bar several self-seeded ashes, a lot of ivy and a whole load of random stuff round the pond. It’s up a corner and a total pita to keep tidy.

Rhododendrons, lilac, bleeding hearts, peonies in bud, snowball tree, lots of geraniums, wild garlic, forget-me-nots, azaleas, magnolia (still, just about).

UnaOfStormhold · 09/05/2018 10:54

A bit of a changing of the guard here - tulips and camellias are basically over, but now we have camassia, aquilegia, cornflowers, may, weigela, cerinthe, rhododendrons, kerria and berberis. Blueberries, apples and strawberries are all looking pretty too.

I dug up blue aqueliga from my mums garden. Every year the garden was a sea of dark blue. Last year they flowered blue but this year every one is magenta. Not a blue one in sight.

Snowdr0p · 19/05/2018 17:47

My pink creeping thyme! Planted last summer and now for the first time it's come together to form a 'carpet' and bloomed.

Izzywigs · 20/05/2018 21:32

In one bed I have lots of circium. Valerian and thalacrium all creating a medley of various shades purples. Behind it a fence covered in a pale yellow rose which make the purples zing.

WellTidy · 21/05/2018 13:52

Lilac - white and purple (both planted last year so they didn't flower, looking very strong this year)
Weigela (looks beautiful, huge and pink)
Weigela florida - much smaller
Weigela ebony and ivory (again, really little)
Cistus looking stunning
Ceanothus
Campanula
Polemonium
Various clematis
Various honeysuckle
Wisteria
Peony - I had about 4 flowers last year, this year I have 11 which is making me so happy
Eriseyum bowles mauve looking absolutely enormous
Rhododendron (a mauve one) still looking really lovely
Azaleas just finishing

WellTidy · 21/05/2018 13:55

And how could I forget the lupins and allium? It being Chelsea week and everything.

applecatchers36 · 21/05/2018 16:24

Ooh Chelsea so jealous of MIL who is going this week!
So have 5 beautiful peonies out
Lilac
Osteospermum
Viola
A couple of roses now flowering
Lobelias
Margam lillies in bud

kally195 · 23/05/2018 07:52

Lots and lots in flower, including the lilac which is brilliant this year. What I'm most chuffed with though is my irises, which are flowering for the first time since we moved on almost two years ago. Beautiful small blue ones in the front garden, and these monsters in the back garden

Annabelle4 · 26/05/2018 14:14

Lupins, weigela (sp)? Paul's scarlet tree, roses just about to burst (I can't wait)! Geranium, forgetmenot, grass is covered in buttercups.

Cherry blossom gone.

Lilac everywhere in my area but I don't have any in my garden. That's next on my to buy list!

Black Pansies
Black Hollyhock
Cornflower
Calendula
Poppies
Sunflowers
An African plant - not sure of its name! Previous occupants planted it and it seems to flower every year with no care from me!

MyBreadIsEggy · 26/05/2018 14:21

This is it - anyone know what it is?

Polly99 · 26/05/2018 14:22

That’s knophofia, aka red hot poker

Annabelle4 · 26/05/2018 14:45

Can someone help me with this? I planted it a few years ago and it has spread like crazy. It looks a bit like Lavender. (Ignore the weeds in between)! Blush

Just coming into flower now, various allium, cornflowers and lots and lots of buttercups.

tealady · 28/05/2018 18:39

Annabelle, I think that looks like Nepeta (cat mint)?

UnaOfStormhold · 28/05/2018 18:47

Irises, roses, camassia, aquilegia, geums, alliums, nigella, weigela, sweet William, clematis, azalea, rhododendron, cerinthe and this lovely plant which I don't know but which is equally stunning in the autumn with leaves shading yellow to red. Anyone recognise it?
