Wedding help needed...

I am needing a bit of advice for a mid August wedding. We want to use plants in tiny pots (5cm diameter) as place names and wondered what plants/ shrubs would be at plug stage in August. We have looked at succulents and cacti but just wanted some other ideas.

I like English Ivy.

What about herbs?

Small heathers or alpines. Garden centres often have selections of both of these in small pots. Sometimes they are offered on bulk buys such as 4 pots for £10.
