Would anyone be able to tell me what type of tree this is please? Googling hasn’t helped me (or I’m just rubbish at googling!!)

It looks like an overgrown shrub, rather than a tree. Are there any signs of buds?

NumbersLetters · 07/04/2018 09:56

could it be a rhododendron? Spelling may be off.

Hi, looks like a rhododendron to me too. Does it have any buds? Should flower some time around May if it does.

Quercus ilex: hold or holly oak I should think

Paddybare · 07/04/2018 10:20

It’s actually a huge tree, the trunk diameter is well over a metre. That’s a picture from today too, the leaves never drop off.

Bay?

Paddybare · 07/04/2018 10:22

Sophie I think you may have it with Holly Oak! Thank you, I’ve always wondered what it is and have never seen another one.
