What can plant to deter cats from hunting our frogs?

We created a small wildlife pond last year. It was quickly colonised by several frogs, and as fast as they arrived they were caught by neighbours' cats. We want to put more plants around the pond area this spring - any suggestions for plants that would deter the cats?

Maybe loads of ground cover such as ferns and perennial geraniums for them to hide under, mixed with thorny things like berberis?

And a water pistol for the cats Grin (and I say that as a cat lover and owner)

Thanks blacksax. It's a bit bleak round there at the moment but ferns and thorns sound like the way to go. Have also read that lavender is disliked by cats. And a water pistol is certainly tempting. At the moment I find myself running down the garden in my slippers when see a cat, hissing and gesticulating in the most menacing way I can muster!

As another cat lover and owner of four...I agree with the water pistol.

They will eventually learn to stay away...
