Ways to cheer up garden and shed?

I am looking for ideas on how to make our garden look more fun/funky.
We have an area at the bottom in front of our shed with shingle and a Little Tikes playhouse tucked in the corner - so its not too obvious/garish as I love my garden!
But I would like to add things to make it look fun, perhaps sth I can put on the shed walls, some funky kids decorations or some solar lights... (there isnt a flower bed there so I cant grow sunflowers or sth like that).
Not sure where to look for inspiration, any ideas anyone?

How about growing sunflowers in a couple of growbags? Trawl the pound shops or Wilkinsons for scarecrows and metal butterflies on sticks, painted watering cans etc. Paint the shed in like a beachhut or in stripes?

Cant have growbags there unfortunately but like the idea of metal butterflies, will start looking....
