Compost Advice

I've made some raised vegetable beds, but what do i fill them with, There are bags of compost at the garden centre but it would cost a fortune to fill them all, is there a cheap alternative??

Horse manure? Any local farms/stables usually have a substantial and cheap (or free) surplus.

You could advertise on freecycle for topsoil. Lots of people have building work done this time of year, if you offer to collect it, I bet lots of offers will come your way.
