Identification of a large triffid like thing in my garden!

This amazingly structural plant has appeared in my garden this autumn. It's grown to over 6ft and before I hack it out, I'm really curious as to what it is.

Structural large leaves, ridged stem and small lantern like seed pods with black seeds in them, similar size to marbles...

I think that's Elder.... But can't tell 100% of it is it will grow back from practically nothing you'll end up having to constantly chop it down or dig it up it's a bit of a pain and spreads!

I think its a form of Physalis. Some varieties can grow 3 meters tall.

Definitely a triffid. Fire is your only option.

I've got tonnes of elder that I chop out all the time, but the leaves on this are Massive!!! Looks almost tropical

It’s a P hysalis known as a Chinese Lantern. If you leave it the outercases should turn a beautiful orange. They can be dried and used for decoration.
