Potatoes?!?!

Have grown some for the first time.
The plants are about a meter tall and bending sideways.
What should I do next? Do they need sticks?
How do you know when they're ready?

Have you added some extra soil to the base of them? I don't Normally stake them up

They've got a bit crazy!

Do you just kept adding it indefinitely?

Yes, keep adding it to cover any growing potatoes.

So they have flowers now - is this ok?

Are they in the shade? It's unusual for potatoes to grow so tall. Have you had a little dig to see if they're 'new potato' size?

Don't worry about flowers, but if any fruit (look like little tomatoes) pick the fruit and destroy it as it's quite toxic.

They are not in full sun - half the day in shade I'd say.

I've growth potatoes for many years, and I've never got then a metre tall!
What did you discover when you dug down op?

Have a rummage - see if they are ready to eat.

My pototoes grew to about a metre this year, harvested one lot last week, they were more than ready.
