Strimmer recommendations please

I've inherited a really overgrown garden, the grass is very long and knotted. I've tried to cut the grass with a cheap strimmer but it was too much for it. Can anyone recommend something more robust & easy to use please? I haven't got loads of money to spend either. Thanks

Gardener is the best bet. Professional equipment isn't cheap and would be wasted unless it has regular use. If stimming is the only requirement just about anyone can do it from franchise operations to local bloke/lady. Don't discount a big mower either. They will smash through very heavy grass quicker and more easily than a strimmer.
