Is my spider plant dying or having a baby?

Apparently spider plants are practically unkillable. I have accepted this challenge. It's started growing this weird thing that my phone has refused to focus on, is it a good thing or a bad thing?

Oh wow, speedy responses and they are positive! Yay!
So I just let it do it's own thing still it's a little bigger, then mini pot it? Once it's big enough do I cut it from it's mama, put it in a pot and bring it to work to start a green office?

I also have a bromeliad there that's having a pup. Soon, a windowsill of greenery.
