Wisteria bloomed and then all the flowers died!

We have a what looks to be quite old wisteria inherited with our new house. It burst into an amazing amount of flowers a week or so ago, and no they have all died! Any ideas why this has happened? I was hoping to keep it and retrain it against the new fence when we put that in (currently its growing around a pergola). The roots face east but the blooms have sun pretty much all day. Is it worth saving, or should we start again with a new one when we do the fence? I do know some of the branches that got accidently trimmed when I was trying to get rid of a jasmine were dripping sap, so its not dead as such.

Was it during the hard frost the week before last?

We didn't really have a frost. It did get down to almost 1 but as far as I know it didnt freeze. Actually, that said, I think I remember a bit of windscreen scraping one morning, so perhaps we did Hmm I guess that would have done it. Though, I am sure there are others in my area which are still in full bloom.
