Help with a lawn!

Hello everyone, So my lawn was super weedy and patchy, I decided to till it, clean out the weeds, leftover debris, lay down soil, mix it in and then laid down some seeds, I laid the seeds down by hand (now i know) and watered it down.. boy is my lawn a mess lol I really need some advice, it's all patchy, some spots have grown great but most of the lawn is not growing, what should I do?

Give it time and it will recover. It's only May 1st.
I really need to do this in ours as there are bits where the dandelions are taking over.
Make sure to water the seeded areas if it's been very dry weather.

I look out for rainy days and then when it's going to rain put more seed on it.

Don't be tempted to use weedkiller this year. When the grass is long enough regular mowing should control the weed regrowth enough to get you through to next summer and a good selective broad-leaved weedkiller.

As for the seed. Water to keep the soil damp while the seed germinates. I.e. Exactly what Wow said!
