The stocks & pansies I had in pots by the door have finally had it. What can I buy now which, ideally, will see me into the Autumn? Inspiration please!

See what local garden centres have IN BUD in pots at the moment, and ask how long they might flower for.

Heuchera are very decorative, in a wide range of colours, and some are virtually evergreen, so will keep attractive foliage through the winter.

Also, if you see any nice Fuchsias in flower, they may keep flowering for a while, but will need TLC to get them through the winter. Do you have any spring bulbs planted, ready for next spring?

Asters flower from now until first frost. You should be able to pick up some from a garden centre. Begonias are also flowering now and will go on until the frost.
