Trying to identify a plant shown in Gardeners' World - help!

If anyone saw it, I'd be glad of a steer - it was an item on a flower-cutting business. Towards the end they showed a shot (uncaptioned - bah!) of a lovely herbaceous plant, in a clump with tall spires and leaves that were green but gradually blushing purple, so they looked like flowers but were actually leaves, iyswim.

Pic (taken from the screen) attached.

Thoughts, O wise Mumsnetting gardeners?

Gosh, thanks, Evergreen. I was looking up salvias but hadn't hit on clary sage. Hoorah! Smile

They are lovely aren't they; I sowed a load of these earlier this season and the buggering slugs have eaten everyone...swines!

They're lovely, no idea why I hadn't clocked them before! Thanks again, Evergreen (and Mr Evergreen Grin)

They are gorgeous.

Gatekeeper, I am trying coffee grounds to deter slugs, apparently they don't like crawling over them and they are supposed to also be a good fertiliser.

tried the coffee grounds but we must have sophisticated slugs as they seem to revel in it....gits!
