Gutted to have mowed my newly laid (and v expensive) lawn and it's now looking like this. I've clearly left it too long. Please gardening people, tell me is it completely f**ked or can I do anything to salvage it?

Some one asking about cost of green sleeves , you can just get one off treatments your not commited to get season treatments like we do, it's £50 a treatment for our size of front and back garden. Our neighbours pay £35 so it just depends on garden size

Here is a photo of our garden a few months after they came and did ours

Prior to this it was a sold compacted soil with bald patches and the rest riddled with clovers, Daisy's and moss. It looked a mess
We are really pleased with how it's coming along

Ha ha yeah defo hope and ours came on really quickly we in Scotland so get plenty of rain which i think helps.

We have dogs so it's never going to look amazing but it's going in the right direction

I've just got a husqvarna Automower too which is really helping too as its cuts grass every couple days and only takes a few mm off at a time

Cutting too much off in one go can be the worst thing for grass. Little trims regular is the way to go

don't feed it every day or every week, it doesn't need fed that much.

agree with someone else who said don't get someone in to do it, they will be there for about 15 mins, put some nitrogen loaded fertiliser on it then will leave and that will be it.
