Total gardening virgin in need of help

Hello.

My beautiful dog died on Sunday and I want to inter her ashes in a big planter with a variety of shrubs / flowers which will provide a nice display for most of the year. It will be a big planter (need room for the eventual sharing of the planter with her brother) and I particularly love spring flowers (iris, daffs, tulips etc).

Please can some of you lovely people help me? Should I plant some herbs / shrubs (was wondering about some rosemary for remembrance) and bulbs, or do it season by season and have a changing display?

Planter will be on an east-facing decking area which gets good sunlight til about 2pm March-Sep.

Thanks so much for any advice.

I think Rosemary for rememberance is a lovely idea. Perhaps Rosemary in the centre with golden thyme around the edge. I love stroking thyme to get the perfume and maybe this will be a little like stroking your dog.

These will be easy to remove and replant when the time comes.

I am sorry for your loss.
