novice gardener alert-garden looking very bare- especially the patio. I had visions of lots of pots filled with flowers but time seems to have got ahead of me- is it too late to sow anything for this summer? I did manage to sow lots of antirrhinums but they are only 2 inches tall- will they grow in time for this summer? any advice welcome!

You might be able to get a few things in the Sarah Raven sale, I got the purple pot collection, cosmos and antirrhinum in white. I also have a pot with strawberries and might try dwarf beans too.

Our local market was doing full sized cosmos plants in bloom for £1.20! I put three in a pot and they look lovely. I also got nemesia and bacopia for about the same price for another pot.

Try Homebase and B&Q - they usually reach a point in June/July where supply outstrips demand = selling off perfectly healthy trays of bedding plants very cheaply Smile
