Lumpy lawn

Is there a way to get rid of lumps and bumps on a lawn? It's patchy where there were some dips that fill with water in the winter, we tried to fill them with earth and put the turf back, which has sort of done something, but it's no better tbh.

Is there a way to flatten it all? Do we just have to keep digging bits and filling bits?

I am no expert - but the fact that you've effectively got a pond there for some of the year suggests a problem with drainage to me! It sounds almost as though you're on top of a natural spring or something. Can you post a picture?

Fork the area making holes to improve the drainage. Scatter sharp sand and rake that through the area. Put some topsoil down and again rack it through. Sow seed and don't allow it to dry out. We've seen some improvement to our lumpy lawn with this method. It's definitely the right time to do it. Good luck.
